06 DIFFERENTIATION & ORGANOID MODELS

ATEC applies a variety of in vitro differentiation models with appropriate histochemical, ELIZA and qRT-PCR assays.
In addition, our proprietary in vivo implantable tissue engineering chamber, employing an arterio-venous loop or pedicle for effective vascularisation, offers tissue and organoid analysis in small or large
animals, and the growth of human tissues in immunocompromised mice or rats. Our expertise in stem and progenitor cell isolation and organoid development has been applied to several tissues (see below). This combination of capabilities offers broad scope to clients, from toxicology, efficacy and mechanism studies with new agents to complex biocompatibility and tissue engineering solutions.
In vitro assays with appropriate progenitor cells include:
In vivo models include:
-
Cardiomyocyte differentiation from stem cells
-
to form beating tissue
-
Pancreatic islet progenitor cell differentiation
-
Adipogenesis driven by a proprietary matrix
We welcome proposals for collaborative model development.
ATEC Ltd is an Australian tissue engineering company providing
expert contract R&D and testing services to commercial and
public-sector clients.
Based within the world-renowned Bernard O’Brien Institute for
Microsurgery in Melbourne, ATEC offers technical excellence,
and access to uniquely productive biological models. |

In addition to cytotoxicity, these include quantitative in vitro and
in vivo angiogenesis assays; matrix development and formulation
testing; and a variety of unique models for target tissue growth
(including cardiac, pancreatic islet, adipose, and liver) in proprietary
tissue engineering chambers in small and large animals. Stem cell
isolation, propagation, and in vitro and in vivo differentiation analyses complement these tissue engineering models. Human organoid models
in nude rats and mice are in development, and ATEC is open to
proposals for co-development. |
